About the Course

This professional development course builds educators’ capacity to teach climate education in meaningful, action-oriented ways. Participants develop a strong understanding of the climate crisis and learn strategies to engage youth through Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL). The course explores climate technologies in action, guides educators in leading community mapping projects, and centres Indigenous knowledge and environmental stewardship. Through a focus on community awareness and collective action, educators are supported in empowering young people to address climate change and related environmental challenges in their communities.

Meet Your Developers

Welcome to LIVGREEN! This course has been created by a team of educators, researchers, and environmental enthusiasts who love learning outdoors, asking big questions, and helping students connect with the world around them. We bring together experience in science, teaching, and community-based learning to design hands-on activities that make environmental topics engaging, relevant, and meaningful. Inspired by Dr. Jane and the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada’s mission of nurturing hope through collective action, our goal is to empower learners to explore, care for, and take action for their local and global environments.
